Sleeping Beauty

Moody Performance Hall

Come fall under the spell of one of ballet's most romantic fairy tale classics, Sleeping Beauty. Set to the score of perhaps Russia’s most famous composer, Piotr Ilych Tchaikovsky, the Ballet North Texas production of Sleeping Beauty justifies the very essence of traditional ballet technique and storytelling mime.  Don’t miss this tale of the conflicting forces of good and evil as the curse of the malevolent fairy Carabosse upon Princess Aurora is altered by the selfless gift of the Lilac Fairy and the promise of a Prince’s true love kiss.

*Sleeping Beauty, A Sensory Friendly Performance - Ballet North Texas is proud to again have the funding opportunity to provide their SFP series with Sleeping Beauty. Sensory Friendly Performances offer accommodations, striving to provide an environment that is nonjudgmental and supportive, coupled with performance modifications and changes in behavioral expectations. Patrons may freely respond to shows in their own way and without judgment, and are welcome to do things like sing or dance. A variety of other modifications help to provide a comfortable environment: omission of strobe lights and sudden loud noises, relaxed house rules, reduction of sound levels, and elimination of startling special effects. The Sensory Friendly Performances have a welcoming environment for families with young children, young first-time performance goers, or those with sensory sensitivities.
