Join us for the Artist Reception 'Bridging Sound and Humanity' Art Exhibit, featuring the artwork of Michael Duncan Saturday, August 7th from 6-8 p.m. in the VALA Gallery inside the Historic Cotton Mill of McKinney.
This body of abstract work inhabits a genre Michael calls ‘Soundism’; an exploration into synesthesia, where he draws upon the emotion of music and mimics the movement of music through brushwork to create visual connections to well-known musical works and inspire new understandings. Another primary focus of his work addresses social and cultural themes within the current environment. The purposeful recurrence of the male form celebrates a long-sought self-acceptance of the artists own personal choices.
