Artists Enclave welcomes artists and arts patrons to the nonprofit’s first 2021 in person membership meeting and live performance on Thursday evening, July 29th. What better way to kick off the Enclave’s monthly programming than with acoustic music in the round at downtown Denton’s Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. The Greater Denton Arts Council encouraged Artists Enclave to invite the general public to this free evening that celebrates our community’s art scene.
The membership meeting for current and potential Artists Enclave members is from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Denton’s own Key of Dreams and Trotline music ensembles will entertain from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. The Patterson-Appleton Arts Center is located at 400 East Hickory Street and offers ample parking and accessibility. There is no evening admission fee. Youth and adult art lovers are encouraged to check out Thursday evening’s happenings on July 29th.
Key of Dreams is an improvisational chamber music ensemble that does not use any sheet music. All the sounds they create are spontaneous. Jeff Peters on soprano sax, Richard Waddell on trumpet and George D’Ascenzo on cello round out Key of Dreams which provided music for Artists Enclave’s 2017 Holiday Harvest as well as performing at the 2019 Denton Arts and Jazz Festival.
Chris Veon and Chuck Voellinger have decades of experience playing music in various groups in the North Texas area. Trotline is the outgrowth of their first jam over thirty years ago. Veon and Voellinger call their music “Space-Porch”.
