Description:
Baskets are a symbol for giving and receiving! Learn the basics of basket weaving and twining in this fun introductory class! Students will follow a basketry pattern to weave a flat reed basket step by step, building the base of the basket, weaving the walls, and lashing on the rim. By the end of class you will have a 5" wide accessory basket and the basic skills to continue weaving in the future. Time outside of class may be needed to finish your basket. This class is beginner- friendly and all levels are welcomed. Login details will be sent the day before your class. 

Workshop Outline:
Weaving base
Twine base in place
Weave Walls
Lash rim

Kit includes:
12 - 3/8" black flat reed spokes - 16" long
15 - 1/4" natural flat reed weavers -23" long
1- #2 round reed - 24" long
2 - 3/8" black flat reeds for rim - 23" long
waxed linen - 36" long 
tapestry needle
clothes pins

Students will need to provide:
Jewelry Pliers/ Cutters - for cutting reed close to the surface of the basket
flat head screwdriver - for tucking in spokes
ruler - for measuring the base
spray bottle with water to keep reeds damp
