The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts – Turner House will present its first-ever Student Art Show and Performance Fair on Saturday, June 26 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Turner House, the Society’s historic Oak Cliff home.
Students who live in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas are invited to submit their artwork for inclusion in the Student Art Show. Students must be in grades 7 through 12. Specific requirements and the upload link may be accessed at www.turnerhouse.org or https://www.facebook.com/OCSFA. There is no artwork submission fee. Students may sell their work, and 100 percent of the sales will go to the students.
Featured Fair performances include Grupo Pakal (Mayan Dance,) Bandan Koro (African Dance and Music,) John Tipton (Singer/Guitarist,) Opalina Salas (spoken word,) and Mariachi Lone Star. Family-friendly activities will be provided by the Writers Garrett.
Free tacos by Trompo and popsicles by Picolé pops, limited availability, first come, first serve. Families are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and their own picnics.
Entry to the Student Art Show and Performance Fair is free until Sunday, June 20. After that, entry will be $10 per adult, $30 per household. Registration is required and can be made at www.turnerhouse.org.
