Celebrate Life! Poetry Memorial for Misty Amber Moore


Magnolia Lounge / Margo Jones Theatre at Fair Park

On Saturday, June 26 from 6:30-9 p.m., join us for a Poetry Memorial Celebrating the Life of Misty Amber Moore.

This one-day-only memorial event hosted by Suza Kanon, Tamitha Curiel, B. Randall and Misty’s family will include spoken-word performances from over 20 featured poets, including:

  • Dallas Poetry Slam & WOWPS – Sherrie “Candy” Zantea
  • DaVerse Lounge – Will Richey and AP Perez
  • Dando Poets – Tammy Melody Gomez
  • Mad Swirl – Johnny Olson & Bear the Poet
  • Diane Vincent

  • Pandora’s Box – Paul Koniecki

We’ll begin the evening when doors open at 6:30pm with a short film, brief photo slideshow and a few original poems Misty recorded. Local Dallas poets then take the stage to read their original works from 7-9 p.m.  

Misty Amber Moore Artist's Biography: “Sullen” Misty Amber Boldish Moore (June 1, 1982 - April 10, 2021) was a local artist and poet who performed spoken word on stages around the world, including opening for poets Saul Williams and Erykah Badu. She performed at Dallas Poetry Slam, Mad Swirl, Dallas Writers Garrett, Women of the World Poetry Slam, and slams in Spain and France. She was the founder of traveling student slam poet organization, Sounds of Articulate Poets (SOAP). Misty released multiple poetry CDs, including “Reflections,” and recorded by MicMost “Eye Rhyme” (as “Misty Boldish”). Several of her poetry books are available online at Barnes & Noble or Lulu.
