"IGNIS INVENTIONEM", an exhibition by local artist and incoming University of North Texas MFA Candidate Liz Markum, will be on view from June 11th through July 3rd. Liz Markum investigates the physicality of death and it's aftermath through her experimental processes of destroying specimens with the use of molten media, such as glass and metal. Liz studies the relationship between the remains of the dead, atrophy and cremation within her work, creating a phantom of what once was in an attempt to embrace death in its many forms. Liz will be present in the gallery on Saturday, June 19th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. to discuss her work and artistic process.
