FWO Go at the DMA: Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World

Dallas Museum of Art

Fort Worth Opera in association with the Dallas Museum of Art presents FWO Go at the DMA. This new themed pop-up performance features excerpts from composer Joe Illick and librettist Mark Campbell’s one-act children’s opera Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World. Based upon the highly acclaimed book by award-winning English author and illustrator Laurence Anholt, this charming new work follows the real-life story of Marianna Morillo Safa and her friendship with famed painter Frida Kahlo. It is the perfect pairing with the Frida Kahlo: Five Works exhibition.

A FREE 20-minute performance of this family-friendly opera will take place at 1:00 p.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. outdoors on the Eagle Family Plaza. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks and observe social distancing while attending the performance.

To view the exhibition before or after the performance, please reserve your FREE timed tickets here.
