What: Dallas CASA’s signature event, Parade of Playhouses, will be returning to NorthPark Center for the 27th annual event in 2021. The event features nine custom-built children’s playhouses all on display in the hallways of NorthPark Center and available to win by raffle. The event brings attention to the stories of children who’ve experienced abuse or neglect and are living in the protective care of the state. Presenting sponsor is Crest Cadillac / INFINITI / Volvo, and parade grand marshal is local real estate development and investment firm KDC. All proceeds from the event benefit the children served by Dallas CASA.
When: July 9 to 25, 2021 / preview playhouse on view from June 25
Where: NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expressway, 75225
Who: Local architects, builders and organizations design and donate the unique playhouses for the event. Details for a safe event during the ongoing pandemic are still being worked out, but many playhouse creators from prior years are planning to return including Brasfield & Gorrie LLC, Austin Commercial, Kimley-Horn, Corgan, Rogers-O’Brien Construction, Balfour Beatty, Butscher Construction, HKS and RS&H, Inc. The playhouse created by LRO Residential will go on display early, beginning Friday, June 25. More details will be released closer to the event. The 2021 playhouse designs include a Hot Wheels car, a charming cottage, horse stable, castle, a car wash, and a replica of the Dallas Mavericks Mavs Mascot Headquarters.
Why: Parade of Playhouses is Dallas CASA’s signature awareness and fundraising event. Hosted by NorthPark Center, the annual event brings attention to the issues of child abuse and the plight of child victims living in the protective care of the state.
