Opening Reception for The 8th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition

 Artspace111 is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition, The 8th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition. The gallery welcomes the public to attend the opening reception to see the exhibition of selections made by the Juror. This year Artspace111 is honored to welcome Caleb Bell, Curator at the Tyler Museum of Art, as the juror. Artspace111 will announce the list of artists whose works were selected by the juror on June 11.

The Call for Texas Artists ended on May 24, 2021, and the competition included eligibility for 2D and 3D work in a variety of media. Artwork selected by the juror from the eligible submissions will be included in the Texas Juried Exhibition at Artspace111 and are eligible for cash awards. A total of $5000 will be awarded, and the “Best In Show” prize will include a cash award of $2000 and the opportunity to exhibit at Artspace111 in a separate solo or group exhibition in 2021-2022

Artists and Artspace111 Give Back
$5.00 from each submission to the 8th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition will be donated to the Tarrant Area Food Bank in 2021. In 2020, entrants to the 7th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition raised enough money to provide 15,000 meals to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Read more about their work here: www.tafb.org.

About the Juror:
Caleb Bell is the Curator at the Tyler Museum of Art. Over the years, he has presented numerous exhibitions at the TMA as well as other institutions across the state. He has served as a Curatorial Advisor for an exhibition at Women & Their Work in Austin, panelist for Texas Commission on the Arts and juror for a variety of competitions and exhibitions. Additionally, Bell has given talks and presented lectures across Texas. His writings have been published in many publications including Glasstire and Tyler Today Magazine. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art (CASETA). In addition to exhibition design and development, he specializes in communication strategy, event coordination, fundraising and graphic design.
