Mohua Sundori Pala - Virtual event

*Virtual Event

This is a virtual event

As we deeply experience human emotions in the backdrop of pandemic, social unrest and economic meltdown, we recognize intensely that all human actions are motivated at their deepest level by one or two emotions - fear or love. Mohua Sundori Pala, a lyrical tale from ancient times, is a timeless classic immersed with the physical and psychological toll it takes when love and honor intermingle with deep seeded fear and betrayal. This is an epic romantic tale from rural Bengal, which was originally told orally more than three hundred years back. It is also an attempt to revive ancient folk ballads through modern filters with live songs, music, narration and stylized movements. The language of the play is Bengali.

English subtitle is available.

Original Story: Dwija Kanai Compiled by: Dr. Dinesh Chandra Sen Directed by: Rajarshi Bhattacharyya

The project is sponsored by City of Dallas - Office of Arts and Culture.

The virtual theater is free, however ticket required.
