McKinney Flute Choir - Virtual

Allen Public Library

Put on your dancing shoes and join the McKinney Flute Choir as they dance into Spring with music from around the world at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16 at a free live virtual event at   https://allentx.swagit.com/live/

From the lively “Hopak” to the fiery “Russian Sailora’s Dance” to the colorful “Danza Espanola,” viewers will be inspired to tap their feet and move to the music.  Additionally, prepare to be treated to other fun and spirited pieces such as “Ragtime Dance” and “Juba Dance.”  Folk and lyrical selections will include melodies such as “Simple Gifts” and “A Gaelic Offering.”

The ensemble includes several members of the flute family — piccolo, C flute, alto flute, and bass flute. The group performs a wide range of music, from classical to traditional to jazz and more.  The flute choir has performed at numerous venues throughout North Texas, including the McKinney Performing Arts Center, George Bush Presidential Library and State Fair of Texas.
