This is a virtual event
Join award winning visual artist and educator Dr. Joan M.E. Gaither and explore how artists use historic people, places and events to tell stories. In conversation with the Museum’s Director of Education Genevieve Kaplan learn how Dr. Gaither created a large series of quilts documenting the decades of her life through everyday items while sharing national and local history. Explore the methods and images she used to interpret President Kennedy and the 1960s through her artwork and personal experiences. (Virtual program premieres on The Sixth Floor Museum's YouTube Channel at 10 a.m. on March 27, 2021).
