Pencil some art into your Spring Break plans!
Oak Cliff Cultural Center invites all students to join the 2021 Spring Break Camp. This camp is virtual and includes all materials needed to participate. All materials will be picked-up at Oak Cliff Cultural Center.
Schedule of events:
March 15 - March 19 - Yoga with Stefanie Tovar
March 15 - Beading 101 with Jodi Voice Yellowfish Students will learn the basics of beading, with seed beads on cardstock, while they create an image focused on positives in their life that they will gift to someone important to them.
March 16 - Traditional Indian Dancing with Bhuvana Venkatraman Students will learn the basics of traditional Indian dancing. This class will focus on movement and will encourage students to be creative.
March 17 - Beijing Opera Mask Painting/Beijing Opera Face Painting Beijing Opera is considered a Chinese national art form. In this mask/face painting workshop, we'll be transforming you into a famously fun character from a tale thousands of years old named "The Monkey King".
March 18 - Puerto Rican Vejigante Carnival Masks Students will learn about the Puerto Rican Vejigantes. They will also create their own, age-appropriate mask that they can display at home!
March 19 - West African Dancing with Bandan Koro! End the week with an energetic workshop that focuses on West African dancing. This workshop allows students to be active and artistic at the same time!
Students will join the camp virtually through Zoom. Below is the breakdown for age groups:
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: camp for students grades 6th - 12th grade
12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Yoga for ALL students
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: camp for students grades Kinder - 5th grade
NOTE: The Zoom link provided will not change. Students will join/leave according to their grade-level. The workshops are designed to provide an appropriate level of difficulty for students.
