Delve into the fundamental concepts of kiln formed glass. You will make five or six projects that will exemplify the fusing concepts. Topics will include cutting and fitting glass for a project, how temperature affects the glass, kiln safety and problem solving. You will leave this class with a few nice pieces of art glass and an understanding of the technical aspects of this fascinating art form.
Skills acquired in this class include:
- Basic understanding of glass cutting.
- Proficiency in using glass powders, glass chips (frit), and sheet glass.
- Awareness of various effects of heat and its relationship to glass.
