"Just remember, no one can take away from you what you put in your mind." - Dr. Edith Eva Eger (Holocaust Survivor)
This new work is dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust; it signifies the horror of genocide, hate crimes, discrimination, and intolerance.
Set in four parts: Compliance, Remembrance, Cooperation, and Survival. Compliance in reflection of today's world, a disposition to yield to others, accepting surroundings as they are. Remembrance of the past as it was, serving to bring to mind, the innocence of being young. Cooperation with others to come together in harmony, association of persons for common benefit, working together to make it through the hardship and turmoil that encompasses the world around. Survival from animosity and hatred, the continuation of life or existence, by strength and comradery.
The intention of this ballet is to illuminate the past, and to promote understanding and hope about issues that are prevalent and relevant in our own society today.
"If I can survive today, the tomorrow I will be free."
Feature music performed by Make Trio and filmed by Lauren Bloom Photography.
