The world music percussion group D’Drum, which includes current and former Meadows and Dallas Symphony percussion faculty, presented a special concert at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas in September 2019. It was captured on film and will be shown in this free one-night virtual screening at SMU; for a preview, see the trailer here. The ensemble previously produced a feature length documentary film, Dare to Drum, which explored the three-year process of working with composer Stewart Copeland on the creation of “Gamelan D’Drum,” a three-movement concerto they premiered with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 2011.
