Greater Denton Arts Council is hosting a call for our upcoming exhibition featuring poetry and photography as part of our multi-exhibit project Soul Art Renewal: A Community Response to COVID. Our collaborative exhibition of photography and poetry is a multi-disciplinary exploration of how the COVID pandemic has impacted artists from both the visual and literary arts fields. Poems and photographs will be displayed together in the Gough Gallery and online from May - August 2021.
Photographers will submit images reflecting on their COVID experience. Like the poems a wide variety of topics are encouraged from somber moments to happy ones. We are looking to gather a wide variety of experiences to see how the pandemic has impacted people in our community in numerous ways. Works can be in color or black and white. Works will be featured in a catalog created for the exhibition in Summer 2021. Artists are asked to print the photos, but GDAC will reimburse for the costs of printing. Printed photos cannot be larger than 11 x 17 inches to fit GDAC provided frames.
There is no fee for entry.
This call is limited to artists residing in Denton County.
Deadline for Entries is April 4, 2021.
