Greater Denton Arts Council is hosting a call for our upcoming exhibition featuring poetry and photography as part of our multi-exhibit project Soul Art Renewal: A Community Response to COVID. Our collaborative exhibition of photography and poetry is a multi-disciplinary exploration of how the COVID pandemic has impacted artists from both the visual and literary arts fields. Poems and photographs will be displayed together in the Gough Gallery and online May - August 2021.
We are looking for poetry pieces about your experiences in the past year, from the hard parts of isolation to the possibly happier moments of connections over zoom like weddings and birthdays. We are looking to gather a wide variety of experiences to see how the pandemic has impacted people in our community in numerous ways. Poem style can be any type, meter, or scheme. Works will be featured in a catalog created for the exhibition in Summer 2021. Poems be printed and framed by GDAC.
There is no fee for entry.
This call is limited to artists residing in Denton County.
Deadline for Entries is April 4, 2021.
