Join us for a cast reading of select scenes from Artstillery's upcoming production of Family Dollar! We cannot wait to share this original work which celebrates the power of community, family, and survival amongst marginalized communities in West Dallas. The story focuses on Black, Latino, and White community members sharing space on West Main Street in West Dallas since the early 1950s.
At Artstillery, you're never just here to watch. We want you to get involved! We will have a panel that includes a mental health professional, a West Dallas historian, and a community member who has resided in West Dallas for more than 30 years taking questions and leading conversations about the work after each scene.
In order to maintain safety, we are keeping this event online-only and will be streaming through our Facebook page which will be moderated to take your questions and comments for the panel. This free event has been made possible by the generous support of the Dallas Office of Arts and Culture.
