9th Street Studios will start 2021 with "The #Merica Exhibit", by Houston artist, Rodney D Butler. Butler is no stranger to the Wichita Falls art scene. His work has previously been exhibited as part of the Kemp Center for the Arts sculpture garden, as well as the MEMENTO juried exhibition at 9th Street Studios. This will be Butler's first solo exhibition in Wichita Falls.
This series is designed to provoke mixed emotions and spark conversation. "The #Merica Exhibit" depicts America’s good, bad, ugly, beauties, triumphs, tragedies and its resolve... along with a few of her dirty little secret and less favorable truths. Butler is an engaging and prolific artist who will deliver an artist talk to a limited audience from 6-7 PM on January 30th and will be available to answer questions and discuss his artwork from 7-9 PM.
Tickets for the Artist Talk are $10 each and attendees will receive an autographed 11"x17" show poster, designed by the artist.
On opening night, free tours are scheduled every 30 minutes from 7-9PM. Tour size is limited to allow for social distancing.
9th Street Studios prioritizes the health and safety of its community and has established these COVID protocols:
Face masks must be worn correctly at all times while inside the building.
Refreshments will not be served and no outside food or drink are admitted at the event.
Private tours can be scheduled during regular business hours from February 1st-March 12th.
