The ArtCentre of Plano is hosting an exhibition featuring the artworks of Plano Artist Diana Beck from November 21 - January 23, 2021. As an artist, Diana enjoys the process of using the perfect combination of colors and meticulously blending them to create beautiful images on canvas. At her studio in Plano, she works with oils to paint landscapes, seascapes and abstract art. According to Suzy Jones, executive director of the ArtCentre of Plano, "Diana masterfully creates a feeling of serenity and mystery through her exquisite use of color. Her works would add immeasurably to any collection as they combine both abstraction and reality."
Diana has studied under professional artists Tricia Strickfaden of Manhattan Beach, CA, and Anne Royer of McKinney, TX. Three of her works were selected for the Plano Art Association's (PAA) Global Reflections Show in 2017, a multicultural art exhibit at the Plano Courtyard Theater's Gallery. She has also exhibited in the 125 Art Show at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, TX and the Global Reflections 2018 Show at the Plano International Festival.
Diana says that her inspiration for painting came from her daughter who lives in California and is a very successful abstract artist. Says Beck, "I've watched her career progress over the past 18 years and she definitely has been an inspiration. Just for fun I took a painting class six years ago and loved it and can only say I've come a long way." She looks forward to making painting a full-time career when she leaves her current job as a 30 year employee of Mary Kay Cosmetics where she is a Sr. Sales Director.
Patrons are invited to visit the ArtCentre at 902 E. 16th St., Plano, 75074, Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at no charge, though all works in the exhibition are for sale. Social distancing and mask wearing are required during a visit to the exhibition.
