INSTRUCTOR: Andrea Tosten
Learn script lettering with calligraphy artist Andrea Tosten. Students will learn a quick and simple script alphabet and how to make an illustrated line drawing of a winter botanical. Andrea will guide you through drawing from her botanical specimens, or you can gather your own from home or nature walks. Complete three line drawings and label them with your new handwriting style. Start your own nature journal and field guide to continue working on at home. This is a wonderful opportunity to experiment with a variety of felt tipped pens. End class with the skills to continue nature journaling into the next season! A welcome email will be sent the day before your workshop with login details for the class.

For this workshop, you may gather materials from home or purchase these suggested pens from our online shop. We recommend a medium tip felt pen, a brush pen and any journal with smooth blank pages. Click on the links below if you would like to order a kit or supplies from our shop.

*Local supply and kit pickup is available Tuesday-Friday, 2-4pm at Oil and Cotton. Kits will be left on our back deck or by the back door with your name clearly written. Please email with questions to [email protected].
*Distance learners can have their supplies or kits shipped only if you place your order 7 days before the scheduled workshop. Or you can gather the materials included in the kit from home. For this class you will need watercolor paints, a brush, and paper (preferably watercolor or a heavy weight paper).
