Allen’s Community Theatre will be hosting its first ever Drama-thon on Friday October 30, 7 – 9 p.m.!
Think the old-time telethons minus Jerry Lewis. This will be a live streaming event hosted on our website www.allenscommunitytheatre.net . The live stream is free and will feature great entertainment from actors who our audiences know and love. During all the entertainment we will have live phone banks open where our audience can call in and donate to ACT.
In return for supporting us through this difficult and unprecedented time everyone who donates will be entered into raffles for great items like a brand new 43” Smart 4K UHB Fire TV, a virtual visit with a Broadway actor, a handcrafted, cedar Adirondack loveseat and much more. We know everyone has been impacted by this pandemic in our communities across the county. This is especially true of live entertainment venues. Allen’s Community theatre is among those feeling the full impact of Covid 19. We were about to announce our 10th season when we had to shut down in March. We have been dark ever since for the safety of our patrons, actors, tech, and volunteers. But even without plays being performed our bills keep coming due like rent and electricity.
The Drama-thon is one way our many patrons and friends can help ACT keep going. Too many performance venues have had to close their doors for good. We do not want that to happen to ACT. During the Drama-thon we will be announcing our upcoming 10th Season with the hope that we will reopen this January. We are working to make sure all our people will be safe and have a wonderful theatre experience. Please mark your calendar, pop some popcorn, and joins us online on October 30th.
