THE TREE: An American Rock Musical - CANCELLED

Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre

UPDATE: “The Tree” has been cancelled, said Ashley White, artistic director for IMPRINT Theatreworks, on Monday morning. Organizers did not give a reason for the cancellation.

THE TREE is a reflection of what it means to be human at a time when knowledge outpaces truth. Based on the debut album of DFW band Veteran Children, six playwrights weave a narrative that transcends traditional theatrical experiences. This immersive examination of classical mythos through the lens of today isn’t afraid to question the very foundations of society and our place in it.

This production uniquely offers both in-person and streaming options for audience members to experience live theatre. Strict safety measures and protocols have been adopted by everyone involved and in-person audience members are expected to abide by all written guidelines, which are detailed online, will be communicated via email, and clearly outlined on premises.
THE TREE: AN AMERICAN ROCK MUSICAL is a World Premiere collaboration written by Michael Federico, Jonathan Norton, Lauren LeBlanc, Cameron Casey, Alle Mims, and Franky Gonzalez. Directed by Tiana Kaye Blair (of Dallas Theater Center’s Brierley Acting Company) and featuring original music by the band Veteran Children (Ian Ferguson, Aubrey Ferguson, and Drew Wall) with movement by Danielle Georgiou, THE TREE aims to be an immersive journey across time and emotion re-examining the gift of knowledge and the nature of Good and Evil through an innovative and haunting musical narrative. Through uniting these creative minds, and offering in-person, and livestreamed viewing opportunities, IMPRINT has commissioned a work that is unprecedented.
