Anthology Horror Story: An Improvised Radio Play

Virtual Event - Dallas County

From the tales of Edgar Allen Poe to pulp magazines like Tales from the Crypt and films like Creepshow & Tales from the Darkside, anthology horror has thrilled audiences with tales of terror and revenge, as flawed protagonists meet their fates at the hands (and claws!) of supernatural forces! In this improvised narrative radio play format, students will dig into the sub-genre of anthology horror where avenging forces rise up against the guilty, the cruel, and the damned. And we’ll have fun too, playing with creepy environments, monstrous characters, and twisted tales! While there is no prerequisite for this class, some experience with improvised scene work is recommended. This class includes a student showcase.

This course will focus on: Leaning into genre Playing scenes & characters earnestly Creating flawed protagonists Building horrifying environments & atmospheres Building tension one scene at a time, using narration to create a framework for our stories This is a 4-week reoccurring online course held

Wednesdays, 7-9 pm CST starting Wednesday, October 7th. The instructor is Greg Mihalik. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment can be deferred to a future term. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older. Must have internet connection and access to Zoom.
