Eastfield 50th Anniversary Visual Art Faculty Exhibition

Mesquite Arts Center

In celebration of the Dallas College Eastfield Campus 50th Anniversary, the Mesquite Art Center is proud to host an exhibition of works by Eastfield Visual Art Faculty. Curated by Eastfield Gallery Director Iris Bechtol, the exhibition includes works by select current and former visual art faculty.

Founded in 1970, Dallas College – Eastfield Campus serves more than 16,000 students through academic credit-transfer, college-readiness, technical-occupational, and non-credit continuing education. Over the years, the Eastfield Visual Arts Department has prepared many students for careers in the visual arts, providing courses in drawing, design, photography, ceramics, sculpture, art appreciation, and art history.  Eastfield Visual Art Alumni include professional artists, art educators, gallery owners, gallery directors, art therapists, art entrepreneurs, photographers, and graphic designers.

When not guiding their students through a variety of art processes, professional practices and discussions on contemporary art and theory, visual arts faculty sustain their own studio practices outside of the classroom. In addition to teaching, Eastfield Visual Art Faculty exhibit their work nationally and internationally. They are represented in public and private collections. Their artwork has been featured in national and international art publications. They are published writers, and regularly produce scholarly work through publication and lecture.

Artists included in the exhibition are: Rex Reece, Kathy Windrow, Rick Maxwell, James Watral, David Willburn, Eric Eley, Dan Rizzie, Jessica McClendon, Suzanne Kelley Clark, Peter Ligon, Jason Pinckard, Jer’Lisa Devezin, Tuba Koymen, Jessica McCambly, John Oliver Lewis, Michelle Thomas Richardson, Cassie Phan, Ryder Richards, Daniel Martinez, Ashley Whitt, Barbara Fontaine-White, Rachel Fischer, and Michael O’Keefe.

All events are free and open to the public.  Gallery Hours are Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.

COVID-19 restrictions include a limit of 10 persons in the galleries at one time. Masks and social distancing are required.
