Cinematic Conversations: 13th with Denton Black Film Festival


Filmmaker Ava DuVernay explores the history of racial inequality in the United States, focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans.

Joining the conversation will be Joyce King is an accomplished author- national columnist- 22 years in radio - and the first non-jurist to serve on the Executive Board of Directors for the Innocence Project of Texas. Producer writer Michelle Redmond and Jasmine Jones Curator + Filmmaker, who continues to program incredible work Houston Museum of African American Culture.
