Our weekly art program offers the opportunity to work with professional artists in a variety of mediums and styles. Instructor Jay Bailey's own studio practice and method of teaching drawing and painting helps to develop confidence in art technique and observational rendering skills, giving students access to the visual language of art for self-expression. This is an excellent course for portfolio preparation for specialty middle and high school auditions, for colleges, or by golly just for life. This fall is the medium of the month club: September we will learn digital documentation and draw with Conte crayon. October we will get in the Inktober spirit and work black ink on white paper and white ink on black. November is painting month. December we will build in wire sculpture and draw with graphite.
Classes will remain virtual until further notice. If virtual is not your thing, we are happy to put together supplies and some suggestions for independent work at home. We will also begin offering outdoor, private pod instruction, and physically distant family classes in October. Stay tuned and thank you for your support! If you have a class request, please let us know.
Virtual lessons How To: Your tuition includes the lesson plan emailed and surface kit for each week. Make space for art making and have clean up supplies like hand wipes and napkins near-by. After you register, a link to your ZOOM classroom will be sent along with a welcome email that includes more information as well as a time to arrange surface kit pick-up or shipping details.
