The Dallas Opera is sharing some of our finest performances in the company archives. Partnering with the legendary Texas classical music station, WRR-FM, The Dallas Opera presents TDO Encore Performances, first airing on 101.1 FM on August 8 at 7 pm, then available to stream on our website for 45 days, thanks to the generosity of the American Guild of Musical Artists and the American Federation of Musicians.

ELEKTRA by Richard Strauss originally performed Jan 11-20, 1996

Set in Ancient Greece, Elektra is the tale of a deeply dysfunctional royal family and one woman’s determination to avenge her father’s murder—no matter the cost. Recorded live in the Music Hall at Fair Park in 1996, this production stars Marilyn Zschau in the title role, Helga Dernesch as Klytemnästra, Nadine Secunde in her TDO debut as Chrysothemis, Dean Peterson as Orest, and Mark Baker as Aegisth, conducted by former TDO Music Director Graeme Jenkins.
