About BEATcreative:

BEATcreative is a course designed for students to discover themselves through beatboxing and improvisation. Unlike other music classes where students learn only how to use external instruments, BEATcreative is unique in that the students are the instruments.

In each session students will create original music comprised of their voices. Musician and Instructor, Robert Trusko will guide students through looping, sampling, and will record their improvisations using software sequencer, Ableton Live. At the end of the course the class songs will be compiled into an album. Each student will receive a digital copy of their album, and will get to design their own custom cover.

Students will learn about their relationship with grooves, musical styles, improvisation, and rhythm in a unique approach lead by Robert. BEATcreative is intended for youth that want to beatbox, play percussion, sing, rap, and dance in a welcoming environment.

The approach to BEATcreative is inspired by the B.E.A.T. (Bringing Education and Art Together) program in New York City.
