Costume Design (9 am – 10:15 am)
Designers make the characters and atmosphere of a play come to life! Using well known fairy tales, we will create costumes for three different characters that capture the world of the play and the uniqueness of each character. Designs will be made into a portfolio to share with family and friends.
Set Design (12 – 1:15 pm)Whether for the backyard or Broadway, every play needs a proper set! Students will create an interior location of the same fairy tale story used in the costume design segment. They will learn the basics of set design by creating a design rendering, ground plans and models of their set designs.
Flower Avila and Allen Dean will guide the students on a journey of design discovery.
Materials needed: Paper, crayons or markers, a cardboard box, scissors and glue.
4 days. Each design segment is a little over an hour and can be taken separately or combined.
One session: $45, plus $5.95 registration fee.
Both sessions: $80 plus $5.95 registration fee.
