Reading of the play History or Why We Killed Mr. Pendleton

Outcry Theatre is presenting its first ever play reading: History or Why We Killed Mr. Pendleton, written by Outcry co-founder Jason Johnson-Spinos. The Zoom-hosted reading will be streamed live to YouTube through Zoom on Saturday, May 30th at 7:30pm, free of charge. Outcry Theatre will be accepting donations to help it stay afloat during these difficult times.

Four very different high school seniors just want to finish out the year, when they get assigned to complete a group project for their history class. Their weekly assignments from the mysteriously absent Mr. Pendleton get stranger and stranger, and tensions ratchet up within the group. The teenagers must face old grudges, new crushes, explosive secrets, and forgotten memories, before making a decision that will change all of their lives.

This reading will be the first reading of the original play History or Why We Killed Mr. Pendleton. The reading will be followed by a talkback with the playwright and cast. Viewers will be able to ask questions through the YouTube Live Chat.

This play contains adult language.
