The stress of our world is something we are all experiencing at the moment. And Stomping Ground Comedy wants to continue to connect the world through comedy during this time and create a place of support and joy. At a time when we are all isolated and disconnected from one another, we have created this online group to keep us connected and gain support through comedy and therapy.
The Social Connection group is for anyone that wants to connect, vent, and have some fun while learning easy ways to cope with the physical and emotional isolation you are currently experiencing. Our hope is to connect people around the world to gain support from one another.
We’ll use improv exercises that focus on staying in the moment, agreement, and support to connect and play--but don’t worry! This is not a performance class. This is a chance to connect, to play--this is recess for adults in a safe and nurturing space.
During your 1-hour video session, from 9-1o p.m. you will :
-share your current experience
-gain support and learn how to stay connected
-connect through gratitude and mindfulness
-learn therapeutic ways to cope during this time of isolation
-experience fun interactive improv comedy games
The Social Connection is lead by Andrea Baum, M.Ed., LPC, & and a rotating group of improv instructors from Stomping Ground Comedy.
The Social Connection is a drop-in, one-time class but you are free to attend as many as you would like. It is Pay What You Can with a suggested donation of $20 a class.
You must sign up for each day you want to attend by 8pm Central Standard Time prior to the beginning of class. All classes will be different yet touching on the same concepts listed above.
Do you know someone who you think needs The Social Connection right now but can't pay for it or want to sponsor someone you don't know? You can sponsor a specific person or someone in need by registering for the class and then following the directions to Sponsor a Connection in the registration email.
