Thanks to your generous and loyal support, the Sammons Center for the Arts has provided a nurturing, enriching environment for local performing artists, arts groups, and audiences since 1988. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation develops, we want you to know that, while we recognize that the arts are a vital part of our lives and culture, our primary concern is your safety and wellness.
We continue to closely monitor developments related to COVID-19 pandemic and follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health and government authorities such as Dallas County Health and Human Services and the City of Dallas.
In doing so, we have postponed Sammons Center-produced performances and events through late May. These include the Cabaret shows in March, April, and May as well as Sammons Jazz in April and May. For patrons holding tickets to those performances, the tickets are still valid. We will contact you as soon as the performances are rescheduled.
Also, we have reduced operating hours at the building, but if you have any questions, staff is generally available via email and phone; click here for the staff directory. In the meantime, please check our YouTube channel to enjoy clips of previous Jazz and Cabaret concerts along with the new Take 6 interviews.
We will continue to monitor official requirements and recommendations regarding public gatherings. We have also maintained our enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the Sammons Center. For more information about these procedures and updates, please visit our website, www.sammonsartcenter.org.
We encourage everyone to be vigilant and follow hygiene practices as published by the CDC to minimize the risk of getting ill or spreading the virus. Some of these practices are staying home, social distancing, and frequent hand washing. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep everyone healthy and ready for an exciting return of live performances!
