Developing a Global Mindset

The Junior World Affairs Council Chapter of Lake Highlands High School invites you to attend the upcoming Global Awareness Series speaker. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Emmanuel V. Dalavai’s global business seminar will explore how to develop a 'global mindset' and position yourself for success as we enter a new decade of becoming more comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Global mindset is one of the most important characteristics that next-generation leaders can cultivate. It is more than just a set of attributes, but rather a mindset, as the name indicates. It means an openness to learning, an adaptation to other cultures than your own, and a curiosity to grow socially, intellectually, emotionally, and psychologically.

Presently, Dr. Dalavai is President of EVD Covalent HR Services (www.DrEVD.com), and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dallas. He received a bachelor's in both chemistry and French from the University of Kansas as well as master's degrees in business administration and telecommunications management at Texas Christian University and the University of Dallas, respectively. He also holds a degree in project management from Stanford University and is a Stanford-Certified Project Manager (SCPM). Dr. Dalavai received his executive doctorate in business administration from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.

The event is free and open to those interested in world affairs. Students, teachers, parents, educational institutions, business and community leaders are encouraged to attend. It will be held in the library of Lake Highlands High School. Visitors will need to check in the front office before being allowed to proceed to the venue. Plan to arrive by 3:55 p.m. to be able to find parking, as school buses and parents may make parking challenge. Regular student dismissal time is 4:10 p.m.
