The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Lake Highlands High School

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been one of the most contentious foreign policy issues of the last 70 years.  In this discussion, we will explore the historical roots of the conflict dating from the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the post-WWII period to the present day.  The key issues are: mutual recognition, borders, security, control of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, and Palestinian right of return.

The presenter, Tracey Bishkin, is an AP Psychology, AP World History/GT Humanities teacher at Lake Highlands High School. The Lake Highlands Junior World Affairs Council (JWAC), a student organization interested in global issues, will present this special program on Wednesday, February 19,2020, 4:15-5:15 p.m., in the Lake Highlands High School, L Building Library.
