Ruaa Al-Saqqaf Gardner
Ruaa Gardner is an immigrant from Yemen. With her background in translation, education, PR, HR and arbitration, Gardner entered the refugee community ready to serve this population with compassion and business know how’s. She is the Program Manager and Arabic Interpreter of Break Bread, Break Borders (BBBB), a catering with a cause social enterprise that empowers refugee women economically through the storytelling of cooking, food, and culture.
Beili Liu
Beili Liu is a visual artist who creates material-and-process-driven, site-responsive installations. Working with commonplace materials and elements such as thread, scissors, paper, stone, fire, and water, Liu manipulates their intrinsic qualities to extrapolate complex cultural narratives. Her work has been exhibited in Asia and Europe and across the United States. She lives and works in Austin and is a Professor of Art at the University of Texas at Austin.
Catherine Craft
Catherine Craft is Curator at the Nasher Sculpture Center and a scholar of Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, and Neo-Dada. Dr. Craft holds a BA in art history from Texas Christian University, an MA from the University of Virginia, and a doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. She is the author of An Audience of Artists: Dada, Neo-Dada, and the Emergence of Abstract Expressionism and Robert Rauschenberg.
Jerome Weeks
Jerome Weeks is the senior arts producer-reporter for Art & Seek, the online and on-air cultural coverage department of KERA. Weeks has reviewed and reported on the arts in North Texas for more than 25 years, winning awards for his writings on literature, architecture, and theater. Before coming to KERA in 2008, he was the Dallas Morning News book columnist and before that, the paper’s theater critic. His work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, American Theatre, and Men’s Vogue magazines.
