In recent years, the work of Secundino Hernández (b. 1975) has been exhibited across the globe—from Canada to China, from New Zealand to institutions across Western Europe. Now, his work is on view in Dallas at the Meadows Museum. His paintings, which move between figuration and abstraction, draw upon his deep knowledge of art history and engagement with the work of Spanish masters like Francisco Goya (1746–1828). In this lecture, Secundino Hernández discusses his work and artistic process.
