Incarnatus Choir

St. Stephen Presbyterian Church - Fort Worth

Incarnatus continues to delight audiences with their expressive singing and innovative programming. This concert features two mass settings interspersed with the propers for the feast of the Purification of Mary. The first half juxtaposes the propers of William Byrd and the Mass setting of American composer Vincent Persichetti. The second half features music of two French composers whose sequential we celebrate this year: Louis Vierne and Charles Tournemire. Vierne's magnificent Messe solennelle will be complemented by Tournemire's mystical organ settings of the Gregorian chant propers for the Purification.

Incarnatus is the resident professional concert choir of Church of the Incarnation and is directed by Scott Dettra.

"In music of formidable vocal challenges, Dettra coaxed careful tuning of tight suspensions and dissonances, a huge dynamic range and generous expressivity." – The Dallas Morning News
