Art in Bloom 2020


Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) League will welcome renowned floral designer Shane Connolly as the featured speaker for Art in Bloom 2020: A Royal Affair.  Chaired by Therese Rourk, with honorary chair Amy Warren and DMA League president Dyann Skelton, the 21stannual fundraiser will support the Dallas Museum of Art’s exhibition and education programs, as well as the DMA League’s Floral Endowment Fund.

The day will begin with a reception and silent auction preview followed by a featured presentation by internationally renowned floral designer Shane Connolly, whose quirky, unpretentious style has been heralded for its elegance and originality.  In 2005, Connolly was asked by HRH the Duchess of Cornwall to design her bouquet and all other flowers for her marriage to HRH Prince of Wales and the service of dedication in Windsor Castle. In recognition of this, he was awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment to HRH The Prince of Wales in 2006.  In 2011 Shane was appointed Artistic Director for the wedding of TRH’s The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and was awarded a second Royal Warrant of Appointment, to HM The Queen in 2015. the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011; he has been working in floral since 1987 and in 2006 was bestowed the Royal Warrant of Appointment to HRH The Prince of Wales.  Guests will then enjoy a delicious seated luncheon followed by a live auction of one-of-a-kind items and experiences.  The day will conclude with a book signing with Shane, as well as the opportunity to be the first to view the fourth annual Art in Bloom Floral Exhibition, a unique display of floral arrangements created by local designers. On display in the Museum’s galleries, the floral exhibition will showcase designs inspired by works from the Museum’s permanent collection.
