“You, Them, Them, We!” is the debut exhibition for new contemporary artist Rob J Phillips. The artwork is an installation consisting of engaging life-sized photographs of a diversity of people; allowing you to explore your reaction to these images based on visual cues and cultural stereotypes.
Phillips is a recent Bachelor of Fine Art graduate from Texas A&M University-Commerce who is continuing forward making art while working on his Master of Fine Art degree. This photography-based work invites the public to introspectively and collectively explore their reaction to social and cultural cues.
Rob Phillips is also an alumnus of the DCCCD system, having matriculated at Richland and Brookhaven Colleges before attending Texas A&M University-Commerce. By introducing his installation courtesy of the Brazos Gallery at Richland College, he endeavors to inspire students to reach for their dreams, as well as to engage in social issue discourse.
This solo exhibition by Phillips is open to the public and is presented in the 1260’ beautiful Brazos Gallery at Richland College from February 17th through March 6th. The hours are 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.
