Teen Craft for a Cause

Nicholson Memorial Library System - Central Library

Teens ages 13 to 17 can give back to the community and earn volunteer hours through the Garland Library’s Craft for a Cause program.

The event takes place at the Central Library on Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and registration is required. Participants will learn the stockinette stitch and knit two blanket rectangles. Teens may keep the knitting needles and continue making the rectangles at home. They will earn one hour of volunteer time for each rectangle they return to the Central Library. All knitted rectangles will be donated to Warm up America. Registration will begin Thursday, Jan. 2. Call 972-205-2516 to register.

The Central Library is located at 625 Austin St., in Downtown Garland. Due to planned construction, event locations are subject to change.
