Please join us for a literary evening with local author Alex Temblador and Oklahoma author Noah Milligan.
Alex and Noah will perform a dual reading from their respective novels Secrets of the Casa Rosada and Into Captivity They Will Go.
Alex Temblador is the Dallas-based author of Secrets of the Casa Rosada. She obtained her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2014 and went on to publish her debut novel in 2018 with Arte Publico Press. Secrets of the Casa Rosada is a YA story that focuses on a 16-year-old Mexican American girl who explores the culture, and secrets, of her family in Laredo, Texas.
Secrets of the Casa Rosada has received awards like the MG/YA Discovery Prize Winner of the Writers League of Texas Book Awards 2018, 2019 NACCS Tejas Foco Young Adult Fiction Award, Kirkus’ Best of YA Books of 2018, Texas Library Association’s TAYSHAS Award, and a Starred Kirkus Review. Alex has had a short story published in PALABRITAS, and has traveled through various states to teach seminars and provide presentations at schools and universities.

Noah Milligan is the author of the novel An Elegant Theory and the short story collection Five Hundred Poor. His work has been shortlisted for the Horatio Nelson Fiction Prize, longlisted for the MPIBA’s Reading the West Book Award, and named a finalist for Foreword Review’s 2016 Book of the year. He is a graduate of the MFA program at the University of Central Oklahoma, and his short fiction has appeared in Windmill: The Hofstra University Journal of Literature and Art, Rathalla Review, MAKE Literary Magazine,Storyscape Literary Journal, and elsewhere.
