Margo Jones Theatre – Owen Arts Center, 6101 Bishop Blvd. on the SMU campus, Dallas (75205)
$14 for adults, $11 for seniors, $8 for students, faculty & staff
Originally performed on Broadway in 1928 and loosely based on a true crime story about Ruth Snyder, the first woman to be executed for murder in New York, Treadwell’s drama is an astoundingly timeless and fearlessly frank examination of how modern society can provoke a woman’s self-destruction. The Stage calls it “… a lightning bolt, a roar.” New to our audiences this season, Studio Projects focus on the processes that go into creating a production. The overall look and direction of the play is driven by the actors, who collaborate on sound, images and staging to present their vision.
