As theorized by Homi Bhabha, photographs can create a bridge between the subject of a photograph and the viewer through what he calls “blind spots.” The photographers in this exhibition utilize these blind spots to explore ideas of identity in marginalized individuals and communities and negotiate their relationship with said community, either as an insider or an interpreter. The Comer Collection Honored Photographer is Gay Block. Exhibition curated by UT Dallas PhD candidate Jessica Ingle.
