Our core mission for adult programs is to provide a learning environment designed to serve the burgeoning area that is sometimes described as “middle skills” or the “New Collar Workforce.” Sarah Boisvert, in her book “The New Collar Workforce,” says that “The No. 1 skill 95 percent of employers interviewed want today from new collar workers is problem-solving ability.”
WorkChops aims to support this cause through The Fab Lab at WorkChops, a program that will provide access to the tools and knowledge to educate, innovate, and invent using technology and digital fabrication to allow anyone to make (almost) anything, thereby creating opportunities to improve lives and livelihoods around DFW.
