The Self Publication is a collection of photography and personal essays designed to uplift and combat the harsh stereotypes associated with men and women in the Black Community. Photographer and designer, Nitashia Johnson, seeks to analyze the role of media representations and how it can reinforce stereotypes and influence how others are perceived.
Join the South Dallas Cultural Center for an opening reception of The Self Publication in the Arthello Beck Gallery on Nov. 9 from 6 - 8 pm. The exhibition will run from Nov. 9, 2019 until Jan. 4, 2020.
