Queer Visions Film Festival


Dallas Public Library - Oak Lawn Branch

Celebrate the Oak Lawn Branch Library turning 90 as we bring together film visionaries to celebrate the power of storytelling. Our lineup features established filmmakers that share LGBTQ+ experiences through short films. There will also be Q&A sessions with special guests after each film screening.

*This program is recommended for ages 18 and older*

2 to 2:15 p.m.: “Bloom“

Trey Vanderkamp is torn between his identity as a female, Tory Vanderkamp. After a moment of rejection, he is provoked to make the greatest transformation. Rex Owen Waide is an experimental filmmaker, exploring the shadowy areas of the heart and mind.

2:20 to 2:50 p.m.: Q&A session with creator Rex Owen Waide

3 to 4 p.m.: “Candid Love”

Award-winning film director Kurtz Frausun captures a gay couple's relationship struggles and the death of a parent, set in the backdrop of their Plano, TX apartment during a snowstorm.

4 to 4:30 p.m.: Q&A session with creator Kurtz Frausun
