Beetlejuice: Second Thursdays with a Twist


Dallas Museum of Art

Take a unique and unexpected look at the Museum’s collection with a pop culture twist. If you yourself are strange and unusual, join us for a night celebrating the world of Tim Burton. Make your own clay creations, see macabre imagery on our collection tour, learn about the influence of Surrealism on Burton’s aesthetic, and don’t forget to bring your Handbook for the Recently Deceased! 

TURN ON THE JUICE
5:00–6:30 p.m.
“Let’s turn on the juice and see what shakes loose,” as Betelgeuse says. Dallas Symphony Orchestra pianist Anastasia Markina will perform some of Danny Elfman’s most memorable songs from Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, and more while you enjoy a drink or bite to eat in our cafe.

IT’S SHOWTIME!
5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.Kick off the spookiest month of the year by revisiting this Tim Burton classic that catapulted his horror and fantasy film career into the afterlife.

THIS IS MY ART, AND IT IS DANGEROUS
5:00–8:30 p.m.Make a Claymation figure inspired by a Tim Burton character or tap into the darker side of your imagination and design your own.
Supplies are limited to the first 250 people; pick up free tickets beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the table in front of C3.
